Veterans Day is celebrated all over the U.S.A as a mark of tribute and to honor to all American Veterans. It is observed on November 11 to proclaim gratitude for living as well as dead veterans. In fact, this day is mostly aimed to thank Living American veterans for their devoted service to their nation. On this day, in the year 1918, the armistice was signed to officially end the World War I conflicts between Germany and Allied nations. The United States Armed Forces Veterans are honored on this day for their service to the U.S.
Veterans Days is a federal holiday in the U.S. and all Federal Government Offices remain closed on this day. This day is marked by church services and parades and in several places, the American Flag flies at half-mast. Sometimes also known as “Remembrance Day”, a two minutes silence may also be held at exactly at 11 a.m. This year, many retailers including cigar shops and online cigar stores are gearing up to offer discounts this weekend as a gesture to salute and thank America’s veterans. Many cigar stores are offering best cigar deals and discount cigars for sale to their patrons to celebrate this year’s Veterans Day.
Various events take place in different places on Veterans Day. In order to facilitate more people to be present and partake in these events, they are held on a weekend nearest to November 11. Federal Government offices remain closedon Monday if this day falls on a Sunday and if it falls on Saturday, then, the offices are closed on Friday.
